BMDware on the BMD-300 Series will continue to send data if available either at 20 bytes, or every 50ms if the 20-byte buffer is not full.
There should be no filtering of the \r or \n, rather they should just be passed through as any other byte.
Note: There was a bug in v3.0.0 where \r and \n were stripped out. This was fixed with v3.1.0 and newer.
